Acupuncture for Fertility

According to a recent article published by the Mayo Clinic, 10-15% of couples in the United States are infertile. That’s over 7 million women of childbearing age per year!

Infertility is defined as the failure to become pregnant despite frequent, unprotected sex for one year. Luckily, couples can turn to treatments like IUI and IVF to help them become pregnant. The addition of acupuncture during the IVF process has become widely accepted and even promoted by fertility specialists (OB/GYNs who are also Reproductive Endocrinologists) to increase fertility success.

Acupuncture has been found to:

• Improve the quality and vitality of gametes by strengthening and nourishing the mother
• Promote blood flow to the uterus
• Increase the thickness and quality of the uterine lining, thus promoting implantation of the embryo
• Calm the mother’s mind and relieve stress

And for the fathers who are having difficulty: Acupuncture can even help sperm’s morphology, quality, count and motility. And as with any condition being treated by acupuncture, there are absolutely zero side effects.

Katie has helped many women and couples conceive both naturally and in conjunction with IUI and IVF. Contact her with any questions you may have or to schedule an appointment.
